In depthMVP app development for startups and new ventures
A minimum viable product is the smallest version of your app that real users can use and that proves, or disproves, your core idea. Building one well is a balance between speed and quality: launch too slowly and you burn budget before learning anything, cut too many corners and you have to rebuild. Our MVP app development process gets a focused, well-built first version into both app stores without wasting budget on features nobody has asked for.
Deciding what goes into version one
The hardest part of an MVP is choosing what to leave out. In a short scoping workshop we map every feature you have in mind, then identify the one journey that proves your idea, such as signing up, completing a booking and paying. Everything else goes onto a prioritised roadmap for later releases. The result is a fixed scope with a fixed price and timeline, so you know exactly what you will launch, when, and how much it will cost.
Testing the idea before writing code
Before development begins, we design the key screens and turn them into a clickable prototype. We test it with a small group of people from your target audience and watch where they hesitate or get confused. Fixing a flow at this stage costs far less than changing it after launch. The prototype is also useful for early conversations with investors and partners, who can see and use the product before it exists rather than relying on slides alone.
Fast to build, solid enough to grow
We build most MVPs with React Native, which lets one codebase run natively on both iPhone and Android, paired with a managed backend such as Firebase or Supabase for accounts, data and notifications. This approach typically halves build time compared with two separate native apps. The code is still written to professional standards, with automated tests and clear structure, so once the idea is validated it can be extended rather than thrown away and rebuilt.
Launching and learning from real users
An MVP is only useful if you learn from it. We set up analytics, crash reporting and feedback prompts before launch, so you can see how people sign up, which features they use and where they drop off. We handle App Store and Google Play submission and support a beta programme beforehand. After launch we review the data with you and plan the next release around what users actually do, giving you clear evidence for product decisions and investor updates.
